Characters That Deserve A Lantern Ring Pt. 2

Some characters perfectly embody a Lantern Ring, even if they don’t exist in the DC Universe where said rings exist The list below contains these characters, the ring they deserve, and why, AKA what emotion do THEY perfectly represent.

Part 1, with a different list of characters can be found here.

Dominic Toretto (Fast and Furious) – Pink Lantern Ring

Dominic Toretto, racer extraordinaire turned special agent badass, is known by fans and critics of the Fast and Furious as one thing: a family man. Rather it be mid-heist, during a race, or during a special mission to save the world, Dom’s priorities have remained the same: Family first.

When his family is threatened, Dom’s demeanor changes completely and he’s all business, willing to take on the world and even do ‘evil’ in order to save and/or avenge them. We’ve all seen Dom achieve nearly superhuman feats once his family is on the line, and it’s even become a meme of sorts where Dom is treated as unbeatable if ‘la familia’ is threatened.

So who better to wear the Pink Lantern Ring than someone who loves so hard until he gains superpowers from it?

Harry Potter – Blue Lantern Ring

Harry, the main character of his own series of books, is a mostly normal boy, thrust into the magical world as a preteen, destined to save it from great evil. At first glance, nothing is especially extraordinary about Harry (compared to other wizards), but if you look deeper, you can see what he has that most do not: hope.

No matter the circumstance, Harry continued to hope that all would be well. He believed in Dumbledore and always had hope that Dumbledore would come to save the day (ex. Chamber of Secrets), he believed that the good side would win, even when sacrificing his own life for everyone else (despite the Prophecy saying only HE can beat Voldemort), and he believed and hoped that his friends would be there by his side to help take out Voldemort and his companions.

Harry even had enough hope, enough belief in Dumbledore that he trusted those who he disliked (Snape), simply because they told him to. He charged headstrong into situations with no plan and only hope that he’d succeed, and in the end, he was right.

Beyond that, Harry also inspired hope in others as they continued to believe in his status as the chosen one and continued to look to him as the leader of their war on the Death Eaters.

Who else but Harry, a chosen one functioning solely on hope, who also inspires great hope, could represent the Blue Lanterns who’s very emotion is just that?

CandleJack (Freakazoid) – Yellow Lantern Ring

CandleJack, the ghostly villain in Freakazoid is known for inciting fear in others. Literal ghost stories are told about him and he even has people scared to say his name for when they do, he appears and ties them up, taking them away forever. Even Freakazoid himself fell victim to this.

Given his penchant for sparking fear in others (even being told to do this by Freakazoid as his one and only job at one point), he would be perfect for the Yellow Lantern Corps, led by Sinestro, who’s main emotion is, you guessed it, fear.

Combine this with the old internet meme (where you can’t finish a sentence after saying Candlejack’s name and-
