Today on FAN, I will lay out an alternate way to end the Streak, this time giving the great accomplishment to Roman Reigns.
Now the Shield would be on relatively the same path as they are now, beating Evolution and even winning at WM in such a short time, but at Payback is where I would pick it up. At Payback, the Shield would face Evolution in 3 separate 1v1 matches: Triple H vs. Seth Rollins, Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns, and Batista vs. Dean Ambrose. Evolution would win the first and the last match, while Roman would defeat Randy Orton 1v1, clean in the middle of the ring.
Evolution would claim a ‘victory’ over the Shield, but Roman would call them out as he would see differently. Shield and Evolution would continue their rivalry with Ambrose and Rollins facing 2 members in a tag match (trading victories) and Reigns defeating each member 1v1, saving Triple H for Summerslam if possible.
Next, the Authority would try a more mental approach and have Shield face each other in a triple threat to see who the #1 Contender is. Reigns would win that match and would then go through Kane (who’s been kept as a monster) and look equal, if not better and stronger than him as the Authority (mostly Triple H) try to delay his championship match. He would then be screwed as Triple H makes him face John Cena to see who is the TRUE #1 contender to the title at the next PPV (Pay Per View). Reigns would beat Cena in a close match, and either Triple H or Batista would put impossible odds against Daniel Bryan in order to take his title away from him.
Next would be Reigns taking on Daniel Bryan in yet ANOTHER #1 Contender match (because he has his rematch), except this time, he’d have not only that match with Bryan, but the championship match later on against Triple H/Batista (whichever one is champion). Reigns would win both matches to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He would then be immediately cashed in on by the MitB (Money in the Bank) winner, likely someone who is supported by the Authority and Triple H, and would defeat said MitB winner to retain his championship.
His next move would be unprecedented as he would enter the Royal Rumble, while already champion, and win the entire event. He might even enter at #1 or #2 to further establish his dominance. With him winning the Royal Rumble, he’d have literally no contenders for a WrestleMania title match, so Triple H (still holding a grudge) would try to stack the Elimination Chamber against him with Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, John Cena, Batista, and one of the other members of the Shield. Roman would win that as well, and then claim he has only one person who can possibly match him.
Next RAW, Roman would call out Undertaker and let him know that he’s coming after his Streak whether he accepts or not. Undertaker’s gong would hit, the room would go dark, and Undertaker would have a stare down with Reigns, face to face and nose to nose to close the show.
The following weeks, Undertaker will give his speech about how better men have failed, but Reigns will come out and interrupt him and talk about how there is NO ONE better than Reigns.
Throughout the weeks, Taker will play mind games with Reigns, interrupting his matches, doing the disappearing trick, etc. but Reigns will remain unfazed and not back down. Neither man will hit a finishing move on the other, though the RAW before WrestleMania they will have a minor brawl that ends with Reigns Superman Punching Taker. Reigns will do his roar, and pose and in return Taker will do his sit up and his ‘cut throat’ taunt while rolling his eyes.
Their match at WrestleMania will tell the story of Undertaker pulling out all the stops, being completely superhuman, and sitting up from nearly every attack, and Reigns being beastly enough to keep on going. During the match Reigns will reverse an Old School (where Taker grabs the opponent’s arm, walks the ropes and jumps off and hits the opponent) into a spear and a dive over the ropes into a Superman Punch.
Reigns will win with a second spear (Taker will kick out of the Old School counter) as Taker runs the ropes for a running big boot (part of his signature combination he always performs). Reigns will pin him 1…2…3 and celebrate as not only did he claim the Streak, but he defended his WWE World Heavyweight championship.
The point of doing it this way is to establish Reigns as a dominant, Goldberg-type character (who has proven to be very popular, make a lot of money, and be very entertaining) and use the Streak to properly put over a new “Final Boss” kind of person. Reigns is also undefeated at WrestleMania thus far and could possibly carry his own Streak sometime down the line.
