Hulk vs. Superman Part 3

Superman
In Part 2, I finished the analysis of how Hulk can win this epic battle. In Part 3, I will now detail how Superman can win this matchup of titans.

One of Superman’s greatest strengths happens to be one of Hulk’s greatest weaknesses: Speed. Hulk has been shown being blitzed by speedsters, Northstar especially, and these speedsters have actually managed to hurt Hulk with their human level strength due to the speed at which they land their punches. Superman has that same speed AND he has strength that is comparable to Hulk’s, meaning his hits should do far more damage and possibly take Hulk out. Furthermore, speed helps him avoid Hulk’s punches and allows him to land anywhere from 1000 to 1 million punches for every punch Hulk throws. The difference is immense and will allow Supes to do tons of damage while not taking any himself. Superman’s speed has allowed him to cover large radiuses instantly, to vibrate through attacks, and to completely dominate Doomsday (who is comparable to Hulk).

Another advantage Superman has is his actual fighting ability, and his skills. Unlike Hulk, Superman has formally trained in martial arts and is VERY skilled at it. He knows pressure points, and in a fight like this where physical attributes (strength and durability mostly) are so close, fighting skills usually become the deciding factor. Combine that with super speed, and Supes is dancing all over Hulk with grace and skill, not getting hit and delivering devastating moves in return. Again, advantage Supes.

Now to detail strength:

Superman has a plethora of strength feats that are on or above Hulk’s level. Superman has pulled around 1/3rd of a planet’s weight (alongside Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman) before, pulled the planet AGAIN (this time with a Green Lantern’s help), moved Maggeddon (which is the size of Jupiter), and more. He’s held and contained mini black holes, escaped black holes, and has broken Green Lantern’s structures in one punch (which have taken the force of Supernovas and more in various instances).

So both Hulk and Supes have planetary and beyond strength, but what about Superman’s durability?

Superman has as much, if not more durability than he does strength. Superman has survived Supernovas, as well as planetary collisions. The black holes I talked about earlier also took some durability on his part, simple because he had to survive long enough to leave its clutches.

So at the end of the day, Superman has comparable strength and durability, but far greater speed and skill that could give him the advantage.

Stay tuned for Part 4, where I discuss and choose a winner between these two behemoths.
