The unveiling of the new title was important for many reasons, one of the big reasons was that the old title looked very much like kids toy.
Also technically the old title was merely John Cena’s special version of the WWE title, a spinner belt, that he unveiled back when he was still playing his rapper gimmick. Add on the fact that the belt had been around for a long time and didn’t look like a proper WWE belt when held by most champions, and the debut of a new belt was well overdue. Fans had asked for it for years, even asking for CM Punk to replace the belt when he won it in 2011 and asking other champions to do the same as far back as 2008 and maybe even before that.

This new title was great because it signified that a new era was here, and it looked much more professional and like a title that grown men would actually WANT to win and hold. It also had added value because it was brought in by one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) wrestlers of all time in The Rock, and it stuck around as seemingly permanent.

Due to the sheer surprise of the old belt finally being replaced, the fan sentiment that the replacement was long overdue, plus the fact that it was The Rock who debuted it, made this the #4 debut of the 2010’s era.
